Public Area Attendant Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Public Area Attendant to join our team at the Red Deer Resort & Casino. As a Public Area Attendant, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of our hotel premises, ensuring a welcoming environment for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Clean and maintain public areas, including washrooms, fitness centers, pools, restaurants, lounges, lobbies, and elevators.
  • Ensure all assigned service areas are clean, safe, and hygienic.
  • Perform other cleaning programs and meet performance standards.
  • Pack and replenish trolleys to the required standard at the end of each shift.
  • Report stock shortages and broken tools to the supervisor/manager.
  • Respond to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints in a prompt and courteous manner.
  • Record lost property items and provide them to the supervisor/manager.
  • Report maintenance and safety hazards to the supervisor/manager.
  • Take personal responsibility for equipment and ensure it is operated correctly and securely.
  • Maintain knowledge of chemicals and cleaning products and their handling procedures.
  • Attend departmental briefings, training, and meetings as directed by the supervisor/manager.
  • Report unusual or suspicious persons/activities to the manager.
  • Replace and report missing items in public areas.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to provide a clean criminal record check.
  • Physically able to perform all duties of the position.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) is an asset.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Comfortable with using common household chemicals.
  • First Aid/CPR preferred.
Work Environment:
  • Able to stand and walk repeatedly over the course of a shift.
  • Ability to tolerate exposures to heat, cold, and water.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
  • While performing the duties of this job, there may be stooping, kneeling, bending, reaching, and crouching.
  • Regularly exposed to contaminants, industrial cleaning chemicals, and dust and dirt.
Hours of Work:
  • The hours of work for this position will vary depending on operational requirements but will include early morning, evening, and late night, as well as weekends and holidays.
