City Experiences Dock Attendant Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dock Attendant to join our team at City Cruises in Gananoque. As a key member of our dock operations, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for our guests.

About the Role:

The Dock Attendant is responsible for managing guest traffic flow on and off the docks, handling lines to moor vessels, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the dock area. You will work closely with our dock team to provide exceptional customer service, respond to guest inquiries, and maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in RESPECT Service System
  • Manage guest traffic flow on and off the docks
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure the protection of passengers and the vessel
  • Handle lines to moor vessels to dock
  • Ensure docks are clean and free of any debris
  • Answer general inquiries and provide information about facility
  • Immediately report any incidents or safety concerns to Dock Manager
  • Provide exceptional customer service and assist guests with questions or concerns and relay information to Dock Manager
Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to guests and coworkers
  • Must possess a service orientation – actively looking for ways to help others
  • Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential
  • If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
  • Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods
  • Will work for extended periods of time without sitting
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 40 pounds (18 kilograms)
Salary and Benefits:

We offer a competitive wage of $20-$25 per hour, depending on experience, plus a retention bonus, complimentary cruise tickets, uniforms, and crew recognition awards. Additionally, you will receive paid training and be part of a dynamic team that values employee development and well-being.

Please note that this is a seasonal contract position, and you will be required to be available for work on all major holidays and weekends.
