About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Arts Professional to join our team at Ginger & Turmeric. As an Ethnic Food Preparation Specialist, you will be responsible for coordinating special events, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies, and preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Event Coordination: Co-ordinate special events, including buffets and banquets, to ensure seamless execution and exceptional customer experience.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate inventory records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize kitchen operations and minimize waste.
  • Staff Training: Train kitchen staff and helpers in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to ensure high-quality dishes and a safe working environment.
  • Supply Chain Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain a well-stocked kitchen and ensure efficient operations.
  • Culinary Expertise: Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef, and prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances.
  • Quality Control: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Leadership: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure smooth kitchen operations and achieve business objectives.
