About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Casual Educational Assistant to join our team at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board. As a Casual Educational Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with exceptional needs in our schools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to students with autism spectrum disorders, behaviour management programs, and developmental delays
  • Participate in pool programs, academic support, and implementing special programs
  • Support deaf/hard of hearing or visually impaired students, and provide physiotherapy exercises and stretches
  • Modify programs and support learning for students with learning disabilities and speech/language issues
Requirements
  • Community college diploma in Developmental Services Worker, Child and Youth Care/Worker, or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience with school-aged special needs children
  • American Sign Language Level 3 certification
  • Valid First Aid certification/CPR Level C
  • Behaviour Modification training
