Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Unit Clerk to join our Radiation Therapy team at BC Cancer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing administrative support, coordinating patient care, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe and process clinician orders, ensuring timely and accurate completion of tasks.
- Coordinate patient appointments, prepare related instructions, and communicate with patients and staff.
- Organize and maintain accurate patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient workflow.
Requirements
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including keyboarding and lifting.
- Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
