About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Director, Court Services. As a member of our Senior Management Team, you will be responsible for the overall operation and management of Justice Centres and program delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the effective provision of court services to a diverse client base and contribute to the development of the Division's strategic vision.
- Motivate and lead a team of staff, fostering close working relationships with senior government officials, the judiciary, and the legal community.
- Develop and maintain a collaborative approach to planning, service improvement, and problem-solving within the Division.
- Lead the delivery of programs and services to the courts, ensuring judicial independence is respected.
- Build and sustain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders with diverse interests.
- Coordinate, develop, and implement new or amended legislation, policy, procedure, and program development in all areas of court services.
- Take the lead in criminal law matters, overseeing the delivery of provincial and court-based criminal law programs and services throughout the province.
- Manage externally funded programs delivered under Memoranda of Understanding and report on activities.
- Participate in the Coordinating Committee of Senior Officials (CCSO) Criminal Justice Committees, Sub-committees, and Task Groups.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must hold a university degree in an appropriate discipline, such as law, public administration, or business administration, and possess several years of progressive management experience at a senior level in the public service or justice system, particularly in the criminal law justice system. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
You should also have experience in areas such as finance, human resources, facilities, project management, program and service development and delivery, legislative and regulatory development, policy development, program evaluation, planning, and intergovernmental involvement. Additionally, you should be highly motivated and achievement-oriented, with the ability to analyze and problem-solve effectively and work collaboratively with others to achieve common goals.
