Role Responsibilities

As a regulated healthcare practitioner, you will develop and implement policies, enforce standards, and research innovative solutions for Emergency Health Services (EHS). Your clinical expertise will aid in establishing EHS standards and provide critical information for ambulance licensing and compliance, directly impacting patient and public safety.

In this dynamic team role, you will address EMS issues, participate in health legislation and policy development, and leverage your analytical skills. Building collaborative relationships with various stakeholders is essential. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, and conflict resolution skills, managing multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure public safety by meeting legislated standards.
  • Conduct provincial ambulance operator licensing and compliance inspections.
  • Provide technical advice to the Minister, MLA's, AHS, EMS operators, and professional bodies.
  • Review strategic and operational plans for ambulance services, offering governance recommendations.
  • Support the development of legislation and policies for quality Emergency Health Services (EHS).
  • Respond to public inquiries and complaints.

As an EHS Specialist, you will significantly influence governance and policy decisions affecting current and prospective ambulance operators through the licensing and compliance framework.
