About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Farm Machinery Operator to join our team at Lakeshore Tree Farms Ltd. as a permanent employee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a variety of farm equipment, including tractors, plows, and harvesters, to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and extend its lifespan.
  • Monitor equipment condition and detect wear and damage to prevent accidents and downtime.
  • Load, unload, and move materials and products using various equipment, such as forklifts and conveyor belts.
  • Document routine maintenance and repairs, as well as any issues or concerns with equipment.
  • Order parts and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced agricultural environment, exposed to all weather conditions. They will be required to work independently and as part of a team to achieve production goals.

Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in farm machinery operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and ability to detect wear and damage on equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Team player with good communication and problem-solving skills.
