Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Retail Store Supervisor to join our team at Mount Brydges Food Market. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for supervising staff, assigning sales workers to duties, and ensuring the smooth operation of our store.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of sales staff, including assigning duties and providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Order merchandise and authorize returns to ensure optimal inventory levels and customer satisfaction.
  • Establish and maintain work schedules to ensure adequate staffing and efficient store operations.
  • Sell merchandise and provide excellent customer service to drive sales and customer loyalty.
  • Organize and maintain inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise, and conducting regular inventory counts.
  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of office and volunteer staff, including providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Determine merchandise and services to be sold, and manage staff to ensure effective sales and customer service.
  • Locate, select, and procure merchandise for resale, and plan and organize daily operations to ensure efficient store operations.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff, customers, and vendors.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and to handle heavy loads and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, and a team player attitude.
  • Adaptability, efficiency, goal-oriented, integrity, and a permanent work term.
Work Environment

Our store operates in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and requires the ability to handle heavy loads and work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
