Job Overview

The Lineman Team Lead - Fiber Installation Specialist is responsible for the placement of aerial fiber cable and all facets of outside plant construction. The role requires safely operating and maintaining aerial bucket/line trucks, reel trailers, lashers, and associated equipment.

  • Install hardware, strand, anchors, down guys, overhead guys, etc.
  • Install fiber and coax cables from pole to pole, manholes, into buildings, etc.

The successful candidate will have excellent English speaking/communication skills, proficiency in computer skills, and ability to work at heights over 30ft. A valid Driver's License – Class 5 with Air Brakes certification or Class 3 is also required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate and maintain aerial bucket/line trucks, reel trailers, lashers, and associated equipment
  • Perform all duties pertaining to telecommunication line placement and construction
  • Follow all safety requirements and actively promote safe practices within the crew
  • Respond to corrective network problems, performing effective and efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis, and prompt repair of cable/hardware/equipment
Requirements
  • Gr.12 High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in CATV/fiber telecom industry preferred
  • Excellent English speaking/communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficient computer skills (specifically MS Outlook; Word, Excel preferred)
  • Ability to work at heights over 30ft
  • Ability to lift equipment/ladders up to 75lbs
  • Valid Driver's License – Class 5 with Air Brakes certification or Class 3

The estimated salary for this position is between $58,200 and $73,000 per year, depending on experience, education level, skill set, and location. Benefits include paid holidays, sick time, vacation time, full benefit plan, life insurance, long-term disability, tuition reimbursement plan, and 6% RRSP employer matching program.
