Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Retail Area Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and managing our customer scope of work within a designated area.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement plans for customers, including waxing schedules and budgets.
  2. Build strong relationships with customers and subcontractors.
  3. Train subcontractors and employees on required legislated training and United cleaning specific training.
  4. Lead process initiatives and work with senior management to identify trends and process gaps.
  5. Analyze and control store budgets, monitor expenses, and develop strategies to decrease costs and increase profitability.
  6. Implement transitions of new business in customer locations in compliance with the transition process.
  7. Support in hiring, recruitment, training, performance management, and termination of subcontractors.
  8. Work in compliance with Health & Safety policies and legislation.
Requirements
  1. Available to address customer and subcontractor needs and concerns in a timely manner.
  2. Ability to work flexible shifts on a rotation basis, including evenings and nights.
  3. Valid driver's license and good driving record.
Skills and Qualifications
  1. Business acumen, strong verbal and written communication skills.
  2. Active listening skills, time management, leadership skills, autonomy, and competence with technology.
  3. Managing budgeting and costing within janitorial operational environments.
  4. Knowledge of floor-care and cleaning procedures is an asset.
  5. Ability to motivate a mobile team of subcontractors.
Education and Experience
  1. Degree in business administration or related field.
