About the Job

We are seeking an experienced Line Cook to join our team at Masala Authentic Indian Cuisine. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, inspecting kitchens and food service areas, training staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, ordering supplies and equipment, maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, cleaning kitchen and work areas, organizing buffets and banquets, and managing kitchen operations.

Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods according to recipes and presentation standards.
  • Kitchen Maintenance: Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Staff Training: Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, and provide guidance on kitchen operations and procedures.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies and equipment as needed, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
  • Cleaning and Organization: Clean kitchen and work areas, and organize buffets and banquets.
  • Kitchen Operations: Manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication in the kitchen.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment with a fast-paced kitchen.
