Key Responsibilities
  • Hiring and Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise a team of landscaping staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Plan and direct the maintenance of our grounds, including mowing, pruning, and planting.
  • Labour and Materials Planning: Estimate and plan the labour and materials required for landscaping projects, ensuring that we stay within budget and meet deadlines.
  • Landscape Construction: Supervise and manage the construction of new landscapes, including the installation of plants, hardscapes, and other features.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of work completed, including logs and reports.
  • Blueprint Reading: Read and interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure that landscaping projects are completed according to plan.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Repair and maintain equipment used in landscaping operations.
  • Supply Chain Management: Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve work-related problems, providing technical advice and recommendations to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Nursery and Greenhouse Management: Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers to ensure that plants are properly cared for and maintained.
  • Work Scheduling: Establish and manage work schedules and procedures to ensure that landscaping operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Physical Capabilities: Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for long periods.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in landscaping or a related field.
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
