Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Tractor Operator to join our team. As a Tractor Operator, you will be responsible for operating a diesel or gasoline powered tractor and associated equipment to perform grounds maintenance operations.

About the Job

  • Operate a tractor to move materials, draw implements, tow trailers, and pull objects embedded in ground;
  • Pull cable of winch to raise, lower, or load heavy material or equipment;
  • Fasten attachments such as graders, plows, rollers, mowers, backhoes, seeders or disc harrows to tractor;
  • Monitor and review equipment, structures, materials, events, and environment to detect and assess problems;
  • Adhere to procedures, regulations and guidelines while minimizing errors and safety risks;
  • Maintain and repair tractors and equipment per company requirements to ensure proper operation and safe condition;
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • One or more years of experience in operating tractors or similar heavy equipment;
  • Able to follow verbal and written directions and instructions;
  • Able to follow established safety rules applicable to tractor operators, to maintain a safe environment, and to adapt and respond to potentially hazardous conditions and use the appropriate PPE;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities, and to build effective working relationships with coworkers and customers;
  • Demonstrated organizational, problem-solving and common sense skills.
