About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Operating Room team at Royal Inland Hospital. As a Lead Surgical Care Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our 9 theatres and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice in nursing care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance quality of life for patients and families
  • Maintain and advance own clinical competence through ongoing education and training
  • Participate in designated hospital committees and approved research projects as assigned

About this Opportunity:

This is a permanent part-time (0.73 FTE) opportunity working rotating days and nights with shift times of 07:00 to 15:30, 07:15 to 15:45, 09:30 to 18:00, 10:00 to 18:30, and 22:45 to 07:15. On-call duties are associated with this position.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in all services, including General, Trauma, Ortho Trauma, Obs/Gyne, Urology, Ortho, ENT, Neuro, Vascular, Major Plastics, Dental, and Laser cases. You will be expected to circulate and scrub while coordinating and overseeing the overall care of the patient.

Orientations are tailored-made to the experience of the new staff member, with an average orientation period of 12 weeks. You will receive support and teaching from Resource Nurses in all specialties, and participate in weekly in-services. Additional nurses involved with leadership of the department include the Manager, Clinical Operations OR, an Operation Room Educator, and Equipment Coordinator.
