About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Qualicare Home Care Kamloops. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support.

Job Summary

This is a permanent, part-time position (30 hours per week) with opportunities for growth and professional development. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Assist with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and transferring
  • Support patients with mobility issues, including walking, standing, and sitting
  • Administer basic first aid and respond to emergency situations
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR Certification an asset
  • 1-7 months of experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for long periods
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
