Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the role of Operations Director, SITAG Operations. This key position plays a vital part in leading the Indigenous Skills & Employment Training Program and contributes significantly to SIIT's economic future.

About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee operations within their designated areas of responsibility, providing guidance and support to team members while ensuring that work aligns with SIIT's goals. They will participate in the EDCS department leadership team, offering strategic leadership and accountability for team performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish strong relationships with stakeholders, including federal, provincial, and First Nation governments, the ISET Program delivery network, and industry partners.
  • Implement community-based approaches to strategic decision-making and provide senior leadership to the ISET Program operational team.
  • Participate in the EDCS senior leadership circle, contributing to department-wide strategy and growth.
  • Lead operational relationships with government counterparts at Service Canada and the SIIT Finance department.
Financial Management and Planning

The Operations Director will be responsible for overseeing financial management, planning, systems, controls, and evolving processes for efficiency. They will ensure timely financial reporting, monitor terms of agreements, and develop options for regional funding allocation methodologies.

Data Systems and Capacity Building

The Director will lead the development and implementation of data systems, training administration, and capacity building activities. They will engage with the network of Tribal Councils and Independent First Nations to determine system and data needs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A degree in business, finance, or a related post-secondary degree.
  • Five years of related experience in financial management, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Experience working with Microsoft office suite programs and accounting software.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per annum
