About the Role

The Scientific Leadership Director at the University of Saskatchewan will play a pivotal role in shaping the institution's scientific future and advancing its mission to provide innovative solutions for global food security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive science strategy, leveraging strategic partnerships and operational excellence to drive impact.
  • Lead the project portfolio assessment and stage gate process, ensuring timely delivery of results and effective resource allocation.
  • Secure strategic grant opportunities aligned with the institution's overarching strategy, fostering financial sustainability and innovation ecosystem growth.
  • Oversee budget management and research compliance standards for the Science organization, upholding the highest standards of integrity and accountability.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in a relevant scientific field, such as agriculture, biology, chemistry, or engineering.
  • Proven experience in leading and developing teams, with a track record of managing projects through partnership and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated expertise in intellectual property management and harvesting, with a proven success in strategic grant funding.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and lead diverse stakeholders.
