About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Assistant Cook to join our team at Curry Kolombo. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals and individual dishes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook complete meals and individual dishes, including special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Menu Planning and Requisitioning: Plan menus and estimate food requirements, requisitioning food and kitchen supplies as needed.
  • Kitchen Management: Inspect kitchens and food service areas, train staff in food preparation and handling, and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supervision and Teamwork: Supervise kitchen staff and helpers, recruit and hire staff, and organize buffets and banquets.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Safe Food Handling certificate.
  • Language and Communication: Fluency in English.
Work Environment

Our kitchen is a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and physical stamina are essential. You will be required to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.
