Therapeutic Recreation Services Opportunity

Baycrest Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Recreationist to join our Therapeutic Recreation Services team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Therapeutic Recreation and Culture & Arts teams to design and implement therapeutic programs
  • Document program activities and outcomes as required
  • Participate in interprofessional team meetings to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Supervise and orient volunteers, setting clear expectations for their roles
  • Contribute to team and professional development initiatives
  • Coordinate services with other departments to ensure comprehensive support
  • Manage inventory of program supplies to ensure effective program delivery
Qualifications:
  • Completion of a two-year College Diploma in Recreation or a related field
  • Membership in good standing with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario or Activity Professionals of Ontario
  • Experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating creative recreation programs
  • Supervisory experience with volunteers is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with geriatric populations with multiple medical conditions and/or cognitive impairment is preferred
  • Knowledge of community resources and Jewish culture is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required
