Therapeutic Recreation Services at Baycrest has an opportunity for a Recreation Therapist. The successful candidate will work with the Apotex Therapeutic Recreation and Central teams to develop and execute therapeutic programs. Responsibilities include completing documentation, attending interprofessional team meetings, interviewing and orienting volunteers, and contributing to interprofessional team and therapeutic recreation professional development. The ideal candidate will have a two-year College Diploma in Recreation or Activation, be a member in good standing with Therapeutic Recreation Ontario or Activity Professionals of Ontario, and have experience in planning, implementing, and evaluating creative recreation. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential. Knowledge of community resources and Jewish culture is an asset. The Recreation Therapist will work 70 hours bi-weekly, including some weekends, and will be paid an hourly rate of $27.36 - $34.07. The position is unionized with OPSEU 595 and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including three weeks of vacation, enrollment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan, and access to a 24/7 Employee Assistance Program. The successful candidate will be required to complete a police reference check and submit proof of two doses of vaccination against COVID-19.
