Job Description

As a Personal Care Assistant at Brightshores, you will work closely with registered nurses (RNs) and registered practical nurses (RPNs) to provide high-quality patient care within agreed-upon plans of care. Your role will be integral to promoting an environment that fosters the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our patients.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you will need:

  • A certificate of completion from a recognized Personal Support Worker Program or equivalent experience and education, preferably gained in an acute care facility.
  • Current certification in CPR.
  • Recent experience working in a healthcare setting.
  • Successful completion of corporate Code White training (provided).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • A working knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills when interacting with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
  • The ability to work varied shifts.
  • A satisfactory attendance record.
  • Adherence to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and LEAD Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others).
  • A strong advocate for patient safety, demonstrating knowledge, skills, and attitudes aligned with Brightshores' commitment to patient safety.
