Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our team at Brother Canada. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for managing Canadian payroll, benefits, and wellness offerings, ensuring exceptional employee experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Canadian payroll, benefits, and wellness offerings, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with HR and cross-functional teams to streamline payroll processes and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Enhance and administer comprehensive employee group benefits, retirement programs, and government remittances, ensuring competitive and attractive offerings.
  • Support employees with pay, benefit leaves, retirement planning, and wellness initiatives.
  • Monitor and align benefits programs to ensure alignment with the organization's total rewards and wellness strategies.
  • Lead the HRIS implementation and harmonization project, ensuring seamless integration and adoption across the organization.
  • Manage and administer leave of absence policies, including CNESST cases, to support employees' well-being and compliance with legal requirements.

Requirements

  • DEC in Human Resources, Accounting, or related discipline; or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' of experience in full cycle payroll and benefits function is required.
  • Experience with ADP Work Force Now, Workday, and Ceridian Dayforce is an asset.
  • Strong proficiency in working with MS Office suite, and an expertise in using Excel (e.g. pivot tables, formulas, and analysis) and PowerPoint.
  • Passion for payroll, benefits, and wellness, thriving on creating an exceptional employee experience.
  • Operational approach to day-to-day tasks and ability to contribute to future planning.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail, in preparing accurate reports and outputs.
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Embrace continuous improvement – being naturally curious, asking questions, identifying problems, conducting root cause analysis, and being able to recommend solutions.
  • Knowledge of Payroll Compliance Legislation across Canada; a Payroll Certification would be an asset.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal French communication.
  • Proficiency in both written and verbal English communication is essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
