Electrical Superintendent Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team at Kiewit. As an Electrical Superintendent, you will play a key role in the success of our projects, overseeing the electrical construction process and ensuring that our work meets the highest standards of quality and safety.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop junior superintendents to ensure a smooth transition of knowledge and skills
  • Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers
  • Manage contract administration, including communication with subcontractors and field management
  • Develop and implement a program to maintain positive client relationships
  • Initiate and attend meetings with clients to resolve issues and plan for project completion
  • Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
  • Develop and implement a plan for project completion and turnover
  • Maintain daily records for record-keeping purposes
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes as needed

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of electrical construction experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership or superintendent role
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
