Job Overview

Kiewit is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction operations, you will play a critical role in the success of our projects. Your responsibilities will include supervising field staff, managing contract administration, and ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop junior superintendents
  • Review and approve labor rates for foremen, journeymen, and laborers
  • Manage contract administration, including subcontractor and field management meetings
  • Develop and implement programs to maintain good client relations
  • Initiate and attend meetings with clients to resolve issues and plan projects
  • Oversee and approve monthly job cost updates and quarterly cash flow projections
  • Review, approve, and negotiate change orders
  • Develop and implement plans for project completion and turnover
  • Maintain daily diaries for record-keeping purposes
  • Ensure timely completion of performance evaluations for direct reports
  • Recommend organizational, policy, and procedural changes as needed

Requirements

  • 6+ years of electrical construction experience, with 1+ year in a superintendent or leadership role
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational, administrative, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand Kiewit's policies, procedures, and software programs
  • Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration
