Job Description:

Electrical Operations Technician

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Operations Technician to join our team As an Electrical Operations Technician, you will be responsible for working with our team to execute field services duties safely and efficiently. Your primary focus will be on performing acceptance/maintenance testing and inspection of electrical power installations such as switchgears, circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, protective relays, insulation systems, and more.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include reading and marking up electrical drawings and schematics, assisting with construction work on small-scale electrical installations, and working closely with our team lead to eliminate hazards and implement engineering and administrative controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform field services duties, including acceptance/maintenance testing and inspection of electrical power installations

  • Interact with clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Help prepare tools, equipment, and materials for each job
  • Under direction from team lead, write and compile reports

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar position
  • NETA Level I or II considered an asset
  • Adapts interpersonal skills to work with diverse individuals in a constantly changing environment
  • Offers concrete suggestions to reduce costs, improve quality, or revenue
  • Thrives on creating new ideas, solutions, or approaches to ongoing challenges
  • Makes decisions by weighing several factors, some of which are partially defined or missing critical information
  • Identifies and acts on issues and problems in own area of responsibility instead of waiting or hoping the problem will solve itself
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Valid driver's license and suitable driving record
  • Ability to travel for work as required by the role
