Job Title: High Voltage Field Service Technologist

At Spark Power, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Field Service Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our field services team, you will be responsible for working with our team members to ensure the safe execution of field services duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field services duties, including acceptance/maintenance testing and inspection of electrical power installations such as switchgears, circuit breakers, power transformers, instrument transformers, protective relays, insulation systems, etc.
  • Read and mark up electrical drawings and schematics
  • Assist with construction work of small-scale electrical installations, such as protective relay retrofits
  • Understand and familiarize yourself with NETA Acceptance/Maintenance standards
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years' of field experience in a similar position
  • NETA Level I or II considered an asset
  • Adapts interpersonal skills to work with diverse individuals in a constantly changing environment
  • Offers concrete suggestions to reduce costs, improve quality or revenue
  • Thrives on creating new ideas, solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges
  • Makes decisions by weighing several factors, some of which are partially defined or missing critical information
  • Identifies and acts on issues and problems in own area of responsibility instead of waiting or hoping the problem will solve itself
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Valid drivers license and suitable driving record
  • Ability to travel for work as required by the role
