Medical Lab Technologist

As a Medical Lab Technologist, you will provide accurate and timely interpretive and diagnostic specimen testing and reporting. You will contribute to patient well-being and better health outcomes through your work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
This is a temporary full-time Medical Lab Technologist day shift role for 6 months. The position requires a wide range of diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing, performing, interpreting, and releasing results while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic and interpretive specimen testing
- Perform, interpret, and release results while maintaining patient confidentiality
- Identify incidents and non-conformities, and participate in the development of corrective action plans
- Assist with the evaluation and implementation of new technology
- Participate in problem-solving and workflow improvement
LifeLabs facilities are known as teaching laboratories, offering opportunities to share knowledge and collaborate with colleagues. You will have 24-hour medical support and the ability to teach college and university student placements.
Requirements:
- College diploma or University degree in Medical Laboratory Science, or equivalent education and experience
- CMLTO registration
- Excellent communication skills
- Good computer skills and knowledge
- Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and follow up on issues
Technical Elements - Micro MLT:
- Recent Microbiology experience
- Knowledge of automated blood culture analyzers, automated identification and susceptibility analyzers, and computer skills
- A good understanding of Total Quality Management System and its application in ensuring the release of good quality results
