About the Role

The Sr. Medical Educational Manager is a critical position in our Orthopedics business, responsible for executing strategic and tactical plans for Professional Training and Education programs in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a deep understanding of the orthopaedic education landscape, identifying trends, customer priorities, and market competition.
  • Conduct annual needs assessments to determine medical education requirements and allocate resources accordingly.
  • Promote innovation in learning delivery by applying adult education principles and best practices.
  • Provide clinical and educational leadership for focus product/market areas.
  • Plan industry events, on-site customer meetings, labs, and other strategic meetings.
  • Cultivate relationships with key customers and commercial stakeholders.
  • Work closely with HCP faculty and internal stakeholders to implement high-quality educational events.
  • Establish program attendee profiles and learning objectives to communicate effectively with the Sales Organization.
  • Support grants processes for societies and fellowship events, collaborating with business marketing and regional sales teams.
  • Assess external changes in the evidence and marketplace to identify clinical practice gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with nationally and internationally recognized KOLs, HCP Societies, and knowledge experts.
  • Embody Smith & Nephew Business ethics and represent the company professionally at all times.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Marketing, Communication, or a business-related field.
  • Project Management experience is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft O365, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, medical education, and/or training, preferably in the medical device (joint replacement) or pharmaceutical industry.
