Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Regional Director of Quality and Patient Safety to lead the strategic planning, execution, and assessment of clinical quality and patient safety initiatives. This role involves fostering a culture of continuous improvement in patient safety and quality throughout the organization and its clinical areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement an organizational quality and patient safety framework to support engagement of partners from point of care through planning and delivery.
  • Lead a team and be responsible for the development and oversight of regional Quality & Patient Safety strategic portfolio priorities.
  • Oversee and ensure that departmental strategies are aligned with VCH strategic priorities while building capacity across the organization.
  • Represent VCH at provincial and national committees and organizations.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided.

Requirements

  • Current Master's Degree in a related health profession plus ten (10) years' recent, related experience in clinical quality and patient safety in a complex healthcare environment.
  • Demonstrated compassionate leadership with the ability to manage complex and sensitive conversations.
  • Comprehensive expertise in care theory into program strategy and direction.
  • Knowledge of current and future healthcare issues that impact the designated portfolio.
