About the Role

Framestore is seeking a skilled Pipeline Technical Director to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our global pipeline team, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining digital assets and workflow-related tools that enable production artists to work efficiently at scale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop pipeline software using industry best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements
  • Participate in agile practices for pipeline development projects
  • Work closely with other developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
  • Actively participate in code reviews to maintain quality of code and ensure adherence to coding standards
  • Contribute towards architecture and design decisions for projects
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve skills and bring innovative ideas to the team

Requirements

  • Experience working with RV, Hiero, ffmpeg, and similar software packages used in VFX or Animation video review sessions
  • Industry experience working with Editorial departments and VFX or Animation production teams is desirable
  • Proficiency in one or more relevant programming languages (Python, C++, Qt, Javascript...)
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix-based professional development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Ability to convey technical information to non-technical people
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, both when working independently and collaboratively within a team
