Your mission will be to collaborate with our core design team, working closely with designers, artists, and engineers to bring our game to life. You'll be responsible for evaluating the game's vision, design, and technical needs, identifying risks and mitigation plans, and working closely with programmers to assess existing art tools and design custom ones to improve pipelines.
As a Technical Art Director, you'll also be responsible for training team members on tools and techniques, resolving complex issues, and making technical validations. You'll work with engineers to assess art tools and anticipate technological advancements to define our best practices and share them with our studios and the industry.
We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Art Director who can bring their expertise to our team. If you have 10+ years of experience developing AAA titles, 5+ years of experience as an Art Technical Director on AAA titles, and proficiency in Unreal Engine, Maya, Python, Substance Designer & Painter, Speedtree, and Houdini, we want to hear from you.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Collaborate with game leadership to develop the overall vision and determine technical feasibility
* Build up and maintain detailed documentation for all owned features
* Evaluate the game's vision, design, and technical needs and identify risks and mitigation plans
* Work closely with programmers to assess existing art tools and design custom ones to improve pipelines
* Support artists with their technical needs and train team members on tools and techniques
* Resolve complex, escalated issues and make technical validations
* Work with engineers to assess art tools and anticipate technological advancements
* Responsible for performance metrics with regards to art
* Evaluate, design, and develop the pipelines within the art team and between other departments for in-game integration
**Ideal Candidate:**
* 10+ years of experience developing AAA titles
* 5+ years of experience as an Art Technical Director on AAA titles
* Proficient with Unreal Engine, Maya, Python, Substance Designer & Painter, Speedtree, and Houdini
* Strong analytical skills and a love for efficient problem-solving
* Positive, direct, collaborative communication to improve our shared vision
* Flexible, adaptable approach with a constant appetite for new knowledge and experiences
* Self-sufficient and self-motivated, able to manage a feature from start to finish but also know when to ask for mentorship or help
* Ability to program or edit scripts
* Excellent communications skills in English
