We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer to join our team at the Ministry of Transportation. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for managing a variety of planning, preliminary, and detailed-design highway improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage a portfolio of projects, including acquisition and management of consultants
- Liaise and work with ministry staff, senior management, internal stakeholders, external agencies, municipalities, developers, consultants, and the public
- Lead/coordinate project teams
- Acquire, administer, and evaluate engineering service providers
- Resolve planning and engineering issues
- Professional Engineer, licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
- Project management skills to manage projects, including acquisition and management of consultants
- Interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, senior officials, and the public
- Thorough knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of civil engineering related to highway engineering
- Working knowledge of related fields, including geotechnical, pavement design, structural, drainage, surveys, electrical, traffic, and construction practices
