Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Dining Service Attendant to join our team. As a key member of our food service team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional dining experiences to our residents and guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in and contribute to our Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Program.
- Serve meals in the dining room to residents and guests.
- Set dining room tables and clear the dining room of dishes, utensils, etc.
- Clean and vacuum the dining room as required.
- Wash dishes, pots, and clean kitchen equipment and area, as assigned according to established cleaning procedures.
- Sanitize the dishwasher area after each meal.
- Handle vouchers for meal guests.
- Serve snacks.
- Portion desserts for serving in the dining room.
- Receive and store food supplies.
- Provide assistance to the cook in the preparation of food and assembly of salad/sandwich plates, as assigned.
- Maintain effective communication with co-workers and supervisory staff.
- Perform other dietary-related tasks as assigned.
- Comply with infection control protocols and attend in-service education opportunities.
- Comply with all relevant corporate policies and procedures.
- Complete required annual mandatory training/education.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, and Food Premises Regulations.
Requirements
- Grade 12 education.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and speak and write fluent English.
- Dependable, responsible, and willing to learn.
- Pleasant, outgoing personality.
- Understanding of food service and preparation with Safe Food Handling Certificate.
- Previous experience in a similar position in a hotel/restaurant or institutional setting is an asset.
