Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cardiology Technologist to join our team at Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre. As a Cardiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure (ABP) monitoring, and related procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform ECG testing, stress testing, holter and/or event monitor testing and ABP testing.
  2. Explain procedures and answer patient questions in preparation for testing.
  3. Scan and analyze ECG, stress and holter monitor test strips; select and assess portions of test strips and summarize for interpretation by medical staff.
  4. Under supervision, assist with Pacemaker interrogation, monitoring and documentation.
  5. Enter patient test information into Meditech to provide Electronic Health Records database for client/patient files.
  6. Maintain appropriate files and reports according to established department procedures/policies.
  7. Demonstrate ECG testing procedures and operation of related equipment to students and new staff.
  8. Provide orientation and training to ECG staff and other hospital staff as directed.
  9. Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating and replacing items as required; complete requisitions for repair using established procedures.
  10. Distribute patient reports to appropriate wards and/or departments.
  11. Provide input and assist with the development, implementation and update of department policies and procedures.
Qualifications

Completion of a recognized Cardiology Technology Program at the Diploma level plus two (2) years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT) certified.
