Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Knock Together Builders Inc. As a key member of our estimating department, you will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and detailed estimates for our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Estimating: Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs for construction projects, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Pre-qualification Submissions: Prepare pre-qualification submissions to present to clients, highlighting our company's capabilities and expertise.
  • Estimate Reports: Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets, and bid forms to clients and stakeholders.
  • Tendering Procedures: Advise on tendering procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Contract Expenditures: Monitor and adjust contract expenditures to ensure projects are completed within budget.
  • Supply and Trade Contractors: Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Communication: Liaise, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Requirements:
  • Education: College/CEGEP degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in estimating or a related field.
  • Skills: Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project Size Estimating Experience: Experience estimating projects with budgets ranging from $0 to $100,000 and $100,001 to $500,000.
  • Area of Work Experience: Experience in purchasing, procurement, and contracts, as well as project coordination.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, and with tight deadlines.
  • Personal Suitability: Strong client focus, flexibility, organization, and teamwork skills.
