Junior Process Engineer

About the Role
  • Develop and strengthen relationships with clients in the Energy and Natural Resources sector.
  • Contribute to proposals, engineering, technology selection, and project delivery for plant services.
  • Work on various projects, including biofuels manufacturing processes, carbon capture and utilization, green hydrogen, water treatment, liquefied natural gas, specialty chemicals, and more.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare simple plans and basic calculations for process development.
  • Apply established design and calculation methods to optimize process efficiency.
  • Develop mass and energy balances using simulation software to improve process performance.
  • Select and size process equipment to meet project requirements.
  • Draft specifications, process design criteria, PFDs, P&IDs, plant layouts, technical specifications, and assessments to ensure project success.
  • Participate in various work phases, including office, site, and lab work to deliver projects on time.
  • Prepare proposals and reports to communicate project progress and results.
  • Contribute to the firm's development and growth by sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Carry out commissioning and equipment performance testing to ensure process efficiency.
  • Perform routine inspections and technical surveys to identify areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience in the Advanced Fuels and Chemicals or Oil and Gas industry.
  • Registered or eligible to register with PEO as an EIT.
  • Basic knowledge of process simulation and statistics.
  • Sound knowledge of fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Interest in and knowledge of process control and the environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills.
