About the Role
Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Caregiver to join our team at the Willow Pavilion, a Regional Tertiary Mental Health & Substance Use facility located on the Vancouver General Hospital Campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide care and support to older adults with acute deterioration or exacerbation of severe psychiatric symptoms, including physical care needs.
- Work closely with the interdisciplinary team to carry out individual or group leisure activities and established nursing/personal care programs.
- Support patients and clients by selecting and carrying out activities, assisting with daily living skills, accompanying clients on group outings, observing and reporting client progress, and participating in unit discussions and in-services.
- Provide personal care to clients, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
Requirements
- Grade 12, graduation from a recognized Resident Care Attendant Program, plus 2 years' recent experience working with older adults with behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Successful completion of a Food Safe certification course during the qualifying period.
