Environmental Compliance Officer

Job Summary
The Environmental Analyst will work closely with the Director, Health, Safety & Environment to administer the Environmental Management System (EMS) and regulatory activities for Northwest Territories Power Corporation. This role will involve coordinating external consultants, conducting environmental audits, and supervising environmental projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and policies.
- Coordinate with other divisions to inform employees of EMS policies and guidelines.
- Respond to hazardous substance releases and regulatory reporting.
- Conduct field inspections and audits of operating and storage sites.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders through written correspondence and in-person meetings.
- Develop and implement management plans for NTPC Water Licences and Land Use Permits.
- Procure environmental resources and services for compliance with NTPC purchasing policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in an environmental or environmental engineering discipline.
- Minimum of five years' experience in environmental assessments, remediation, and/or environmental project management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of organizational skills to meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and environmental software.
Benefits
- Salary range: $52.18/hr - $63.40/hr, plus location allowance.
