About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our team at Amazon Development Centre Canada ULC. As a Senior Data Scientist, you will play a key role in shaping the way performance is measured, defining what questions should be asked, and scaling analytics methods and tools to support our growing business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with business stakeholders to formulate business problems and provide recommendations on approaches
  • Understand customer behavior to personalize customer experience, build recommendation engines, and analyze customer lifecycle
  • Conduct large-scale A/B testing and offline/online experiments to evaluate performance and drive product improvements
  • Process large-scale datasets using distributed computing platforms to build models and mine insights from data
  • Interact with cross-functional teams and make business recommendations, including cost-benefit analysis and forecasting
  • Drive product roadmap and prioritization of science projects with PMs to improve customer experience

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, data science, business analytics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science
  • 5+ years of data scientist or similar role involving data extraction, analysis, statistical modeling, and communication experience
  • 3+ years of data visualization using AWS QuickSight, Tableau, R Shiny, etc. experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing data pipelines
  • Experience with data scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R, or equivalent) or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R, SAS, Matlab, or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of AWS tech stack (e.g., AWS Redshift, S3, EC2, Glue)
  • Experience with statistical models (e.g., multinomial logistic regression)
  • Experience working with scientists, economists, software developers, or product managers
  • Experience working with data engineers and business intelligence engineers collaboratively
