Job Title: Associate Dean, Business and Management, Automotive Business

Georgian College is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Dean to lead the Business and Management, Automotive Business department. The successful candidate will provide academic leadership and management to a cluster of diverse programs within the Business portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement new academic programs to reflect market changes and industry needs.
  • Conduct curriculum review processes and facilitate ongoing review of existing programs.
  • Ensure program outcomes are achieved through effective leadership and supervision of teaching and learning processes.
  • Establish positive relationships with internal and external partners, including industry representatives and professional associations.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and implement the Academic Plan in alignment with Georgian's strategic plan.
  • Recruit, hire, and evaluate faculty and support staff.
  • Ensure fiscal responsibility and accuracy in financial reporting and budget management.
  • Manage the health and safety program in the academic area.
  • Represent the Dean at designated events and assist with special projects across the portfolio.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree preferred with an undergraduate degree in a field related to Business, Adult Education, or Educational Leadership.
  • Progressive academic and teaching experience in post-secondary education.
  • Training in teaching, training, and curriculum development.
  • Minimum 9 years of experience in current business and management industries and practices.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in an academic or administrative setting.
  • Experience with academic processes and procedures, including curriculum development, teaching and learning styles, and collective agreements.
  • Project management experience with analytical and organizational skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders and manage difficult situations.
  • Ability to identify, address, and resolve problems or conflicts efficiently.
  • Experience developing, managing, and monitoring budgets.
  • Demonstrated community connections and networking experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collegially in a unionized environment.
  • Ability to lead effectively in organizational change management.
