Maintenance Engineering Technical Coordinator

As a key member of the Maintenance Engineering Group at 09 Irving Oil Limited, you will play a vital role in providing technical support to the team. Your primary responsibility will be to work closely with the Maintenance Engineering Group Lead to provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, develop and present in-house training, and perform assessments on operating equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Support the Maintenance Engineering Group Lead as required, providing technical expertise and guidance to ensure the smooth operation of the team.
  • Review and approve Engineering Work Orders (EWOs) and Maintenance of Certification (MOCs) to ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Provide technical support to the Maintenance Engineering Group, including performing piping flexibility analysis, ASME VIII code calculations, and Fitness for Service Assessments in accordance with API 579.
  • Develop and provide in-house training to Maintenance Engineers to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and update internal instructions and standards to ensure they are current and relevant.
  • Develop Engineering Work Orders for high-priority or large-scale scopes of work, and develop Request for Quotation packages for equipment replacements.
  • Manage competing priorities and tight deadlines to ensure projects are completed on time and to the required standard.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant industry-related experience.
  • P.Eng. designation is a requirement.
  • Experience providing engineering leadership and technical support to a team.
  • Experience with relevant ASME codes, including Section VIII, B31.3, PCC1, and PCC2, and API codes, including 510, 570, and 579.
