Director of Care Services

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Senior Director of Care to provide expert support and guidance to our portfolio of Long-Term Care and Retirement homes across Ontario on a temporary basis.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement nursing department initiatives and functions to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Lead the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident care.
- Effectively manage the utilization of nursing supplies to optimize resources.
- Maintain a system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program level.
- Mentor staff and oversee the provision of quality resident care.
- Investigate and address occupational health and safety concerns, including WSIB claims and return-to-work plans.
- Assist with special projects, reviews, and other initiatives as required.
- Take responsibility for the nursing department and ensure its smooth operation.
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to travel extensively with overnight accommodations required.
- Serving heart and passion for caring for seniors.
- Extensive familiarity with the FLTCA 2021 and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience with WSIB management and other aspects of Occupational Health and Safety.
- Experience with falls and harm reduction strategies an asset.
- Previous similar experience in long-term care an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team, prioritizing tasks in order of urgency.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills.
- Developed creative problem-solving skills to look at the "big picture".
