Senior Director of Care

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our nursing department on a temporary basis. As a Senior Director of Care, you will be responsible for implementing and evaluating nursing department initiatives, coordinating best practice and risk management initiatives, and maintaining a system of care assessment and planning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement nursing department strategies to improve resident care and outcomes.
- Lead in the coordination and implementation of best practice and risk management initiatives related to resident care.
- Effectively manage utilization of nursing supplies and resources.
- Maintain a system of care assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation at the resident and unit program level.
- Mentor and support staff to ensure high-quality resident care.
- Initiate investigative and corrective actions related to occupational health and safety and WSIB claims.
- Assist on special projects, reviews, and other initiatives as required.
Requirements:
- Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
- Ability to travel extensively with overnight accommodations required.
- Passion for caring for seniors and commitment to delivering high-quality resident care.
- Extensive familiarity with the FLTCA 2021 and regulations.
- Demonstrated experience with WSIB management and other aspects of Occupational Health and Safety.
- Experience with falls and harm reduction strategies an asset.
- Previous similar experience in long-term care an asset, with comprehensive knowledge of duties.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team, to prioritize tasks in order of urgency.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and comprehension skills.
- Developed creative problem-solving skills to look at the "big picture".
