In the role of Safety Management Systems Summer Student, you will contribute to an innovative team tasked with developing practical skills to build your future career. This opportunity allows you to collaborate closely with our Safety Shared Services department's Safety Advisors, who oversee enterprise and business unit safety program documentation and key services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support our Safety Management Systems team by entering data, performing record checks, and conducting data analysis to aid in driver safety programs and contractor pre-qualifications.
- Engage with stakeholders, such as fleet drivers and contractors, to inform them of corrective actions and collect relevant information, documents, and data.
- Prepare reports and presentations, and assist in developing informational documents and resources.
- Provide end-user support and coaching on processes and applications, including document reformatting, proofing, and file management.
- Research, review, and reconcile safety regulations and requirements with our safety programs.
- Conduct tests on select tools and courses before they are implemented.

This role may involve working with MS Office tools, ISNetworld, NCMS Online, and J.J. Keller DataSense.

Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program studying Occupational Health & Safety or a relevant field, with plans to return to full-time studies after completing the work term.
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to interact with various levels within the organization.
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and an aptitude for quickly learning new processes and online applications.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail.

Working Conditions:
- A standard office environment with extensive computer use and regular meetings/exchanges, both in-person and online.
- Located in downtown Edmonton, AB, with standard weekday business hours.
