The Diverse North inc. is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to join our team in Montreal. As a Senior Advisor, Process Safety, you will play a critical role in ensuring the operational and functional safety of our sites.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in process safety to develop and implement effective risk management strategies. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as chemical or mechanical engineering, and at least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement risk assessment methodologies to identify and mitigate potential hazards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with international codes and standards
  • Conduct thorough investigations of significant incident events and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Lead process hazard analysis techniques, including HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Tie, ALARP, and LOPA
  • Maintain accurate records of all risk assessments and mitigation efforts

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., chemical/process/mechanical/industrial/electrical engineering)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of good engineering practices and international codes and standards
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Fluency in French and English, both oral and written
  • Ability to travel regularly to go on-site (20-30% travel)
