The Shift Lead is responsible for:

  • Ensuring all site staff adhere to all Paladin Security Policies and Eastern Health Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Regular communication and engagement with Eastern Health site Management
  • Ensuring all Security Officers have received the mandatory site orientation, training, and required compliance training
  • Providing superior customer service and being able to think quickly on your feet to defuse difficult situations
  • Motivating staff and recommending commendations to their respected Supervisor
  • Documenting and investigating security incidents and complaints, ensuring all proper documentation is forwarded in accordance with the chain of command in a timely manner
  • Completing daily paperwork, including advanced reports, sign-in sheets, overtime authorization, shift swaps, incident reports, and other necessary documentation
  • Supervising Security Officers assigned to the site and acting as a resource for security issues in accordance with health authority and regulatory requirements
  • Assisting with departmental site scheduling, ensuring all shifts are covered, and assisting with coverage where needed
  • Performing site patrols and responding to all necessary codes and calls
  • Assisting with conducting regular fire drills and security education sessions, maintaining records, and preparing incident reports and other safety and security incident documentation
  • Performing other duties as requested by the client Eastern Health in conjunction with Paladin management
