Job Title: Structural Design Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Structural Design Technologist to join our team at PermaCorp Group of Companies Inc.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for reading blueprints to determine dimensions of structures or systems and material requirements. They will assist in developing engineering specifications and drawings, participate in field surveys, inspections, or technical investigations, and prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine dimensions and material requirements
  • Develop engineering specifications and drawings
  • Participate in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations
  • Prepare construction specifications, costs, and material estimates
  • Prepare project schedules and supervise or conduct field surveys, inspections, and testing of construction materials
  • Provide consultation services to government and other organizations
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work under pressure. They will be expected to have excellent attention to detail and be able to distinguish between colours. The work will involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.

Requirements
  • College/CEGEP education
  • 1-2 years of experience in a related field
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
