Job Title: Tile Setter Lead

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter Lead to join our team at Buildtech Contracting Inc.

Job Summary:

The Tile Setter Lead will be responsible for leading a team of tile setters to ensure the successful completion of tile installation projects. This includes preparing surfaces, mixing and applying adhesives, setting tiles, and supervising other workers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare surfaces to be covered with tile, including measuring and marking
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar and cement, using hand trowels
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure a professional finish
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  • Supervise other workers to ensure the project is completed on time and to a high standard
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  • Estimate costs and materials for tile installation projects
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  • Install tile strips
Requirements:
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in tile setting
  • Permanent employment
  • English language proficiency
  • 40 hours per week
