Job Title: Tile Setter Lead

We are seeking a skilled Tile Setter Lead to join our team at Buildtech Contracting Inc.

Job Summary

The Tile Setter Lead will be responsible for leading a team of tile setters to complete various tile installation projects. This includes preparing surfaces, mixing and applying adhesives, setting tiles, and ensuring high-quality finishes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of tile setters to complete tile installation projects
  • Prepare surfaces for tile installation, including measuring and marking
  • Mix and apply adhesives, such as mortar and cement
  • Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
  • Align and straighten tiles to ensure proper fit
  • Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
  • Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
  • Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
  • Supervise other workers and ensure they are following safety protocols
  • Lay and set mosaic tiles to create decorative wall, mural, and floor designs
  • Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets
  • Cut, surface, polish, and install marble and granite
  • Estimate costs and materials for tile installation projects
  • Mix, lay, and polish terra surfaces
  • Install tile strips
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in tile installation
  • Commercial and residential tile installation experience
  • Ability to lead a team and supervise other workers
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
